Can Online Campus graduates attend the Vancouver ceremony instead of Chicago?

What do I need to know about my regalia?
Please see the regalia page of this website or the FAQs below. Note, comfortable shoes are recommended as graduates will be standing for extended periods of time.
Why does Adler hold its commencement ceremony in the fall?
Our ceremony is tied to the date when most Adler students complete their degree requirements, which is different from the traditional dates for undergraduate degree completion. Since most Adler students finish their degree requirements in August or September, we hold commencement at the time that is most convenient for them. The Commencement ceremony is a celebration only; students may apply for their degree to be conferred at any time throughout the year.
DAY-OF DETAILS FOR GRADUATES
Is there a rehearsal before the ceremony?
Yes. It begins at 9 a.m. All information about the day-of schedule can be found on Day of Schedule page. .
What time is the commencement ceremony?
The ceremony will take place at The Chicago Theatre on Sunday, November 2 at 11 a.m. Guest seating begins at 10 a.m.
What should I bring with me to the ceremony?
- Phone with digital ticket downloaded to your Wallet and photo ID
- Please arrive to the theater dressed in your regalia.
- There are no formal dressing rooms available at the theater. Extra regalia items will be available on-site located in the theatre’s basement.
- Comfortable shoes are recommended as graduates will be standing for extended periods of time.
- Do not bring valuables. Line up areas are not monitored during the rehearsal or ceremony. If you must bring valuables, you will have to carry them throughout the ceremony or give them to a guest.

RECEIVING YOUR DIPLOMA
Will I receive my diploma at the ceremony?
You will not receive your diploma at the ceremony. Individuals attending the ceremony will receive a diploma cover as they cross the stage. Please return the cover to designated box prior to leaving the theater.
The Office of the Registrar will send an email confirming your degree conferral. Graduates can expect to receive their diploma and a diploma cover in the mail via UPS within 12 weeks of receiving the Registrar’s email. The address it is mailed to is pulled from Self- Service. Please ensure the address in Self-Service is up to date.
Will my diploma be mailed to me?
The Office of the Registrar will send an email confirming your degree conferral. Graduates can expect to receive their diploma in the mail via UPS within 12 weeks of receiving the Registrar’s email. Your diploma will be sent directly to the address listed in Self-Service. Please ensure your address in Self-Service is up-to-date.
How can I update the mailing address?
Your diploma will be sent directly to the address listed in Self-Service. If you are moving and would like it mailed elsewhere, please update your address in Self-Service immediately. If you have any additional concerns, email Registrar@adler.edu.
REGALIA
How do I order my regalia?
The University purchases regalia for each student to wear and keep, including the required gown, cap, hood, and tassel. Students can also choose to order custom-made regalia. Information can be found on the regalia section of this website.
When do I need to order my regalia by?
You must order your regalia by August 15, 2025 to ensure delivery before the ceremony. Order information can be found on the regalia page of this website.
Are honor cords available?
Adler does not provide honor cords. Students who are members of Psi Chi can order cords directly through the International Honor Society of Psychology. Questions about ordering cords or becoming a member of Psi Chi can be directed to PsiChi@adler.edu.
Members of Psi Chi can choose to pay for and order graduation cords directly from Psi Chi, the International Honors Society of Psychology.
Please allow at least seven business days for the cords to arrive.
TICKETS
How many tickets will graduates receive?
- Each graduate will receive eight general admission tickets (7 tickets for guests, 1 for the graduate), which will be distributed through Madison Square Garden’s website. Note: Madison Square Garden (MSG) manages The Chicago Theatre.
- Each graduate must keep one ticket for themself to enter the theatre.
- At least one of the graduate’s guests should use the Madison Square Garden’s website to access tickets for their party and add to their digital Wallet— details below.
- Guests will arrive after graduates. Guests may be unable to contact the graduate prior to the ceremony.
- All guests, 2 years and older, must have a ticket with a unique barcode scanned upon entrance to the venue.
- Although you will see a seat number on the ticket, there is no assigned seating. All tickets are general admission.
- Each graduate’s tickets will be linked to their Adler email account (@adler.edu). Adler email access will be required to access the ten general admission tickets allotted.
- Those who are unable to access their email should view the steps below, IT’s password management tool document, or contact IT.
- Guests cannot use screenshots, images or printed copies of tickets for admittance.
Are additional tickets available?
- Each graduate will receive eight general admission tickets (7 tickets for guests, 1 for the graduate).
- A Ticket Exchange spreadsheet is available for graduates to manage for those who need or have tickets to donate once they are available. Student Affairs is not responsible for the coordination of this list or any inadvertent deletions or issues that occur.
- Anyone over the age of two entering the theater will need a ticket.

If guests are unable to attend, can they livestream the ceremony?
Yes, the ceremony will be available for viewing online. On the day of the ceremony, friends and family can click on the livestream portion of this website to view it.

Is parking available & how much does it cost?
Discounted parking vouchers for the InterPark Garage at Randolph/Wabash (20 E. Randolph) will be available in the main lobby of the theater starting at 10:00 a.m., after rehearsal, and after the commencement ceremony. You must have your parking ticket with you in order to receive a validation sticker as it is placed directly on your ticket.
Parking in the garage will cost $17 for 12 hours.
Is public transportation available to the venue?
Yes, guests can get to the Chicago Theatre by train or bus. Details can be found on the Chicago Theatre’s website.
Are there accessible transportation options available?
