RECEIVING YOUR DIPLOMA

Will I receive my diploma at the ceremony?

No, the diplomas are sent to students approximately two to three months following the term in which the degree is conferred. The Registrar’s Office will email a degree conferral notification to each diploma recipient and contact students again once the diplomas are available for pick-up or shipment.

REGALIA

How do I order my regalia?

The University rents regalia for each student to wear during commencement.

Regalia orders are filled based on information provided in the ceremony registration form. If you have not completed this form, please check your Adler email address for it or reach out to Student Services.

Regalia is picked up the morning of the ceremony upon entering the theatre at the Granville St. entrance.

Master’s graduates can keep their mortarboard and tassel. Doctoral graduates can keep their hood, mortarboard, and tassel.

All other regalia items but must be returned to the regalia tables near the Granville St. entrance following the ceremony.

Are honor cords available?

Adler does not provide honor cords.

TICKETS

How many tickets will graduates receive?

Each graduate will be invited to request up to 10 tickets for their guests. 

Tickets are provided free of charge and seating is general admission style. If extra tickets are available, they will be distributed approximately three weeks prior to the ceremony date.  

Are additional tickets available?

If additional tickets are available, graduating students will be able to request them three weeks prior to the ceremony date. Instructions on how to request them will be sent via email.

How do I access my tickets?

Graduands will receive their tickets electronically from V-Tix, our ticketing partner. Graduating students are responsible for sending these tickets to their guests.

Graduands, if you have not received your tickets, please contact V-Tixa at 1 (888) 961-6111 for support.

V-Tix will also be on site on the day of the Commencement to offer ticketing support.

If guests are unable to attend, can they watch the ceremony?

Yes, the ceremony will be available for viewing online. On the day of the ceremony, friends and family can click on the livestream portion of this website to view it.

Are there accessible seating options and support available at the venue?

Yes. Wheelchair seating is available on the orchestra and dress circle levels.  The washrooms are accessible and the venue has other supports available such as hearing-assist and binoculars. More information can be found on the Orpheum’s website.

Where is this year’s ceremony?

The Vancouver Campus Commencement Ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19 at the Orpheum.

The Orpheum is located at:

Is parking available & how much does it cost?

There is no parking attached to the Orpheum. Short-term parking is available at parkades near the venue or on the street.  Please be mindful of parking restrictions on street and at meters. 

Is public transportation available to the venue?

Yes, the Orpheum is easily accessed by public transportation, including the SkyTrain. If you’re taking the Expo Line, hop off the train at Granville station and head south on Granville towards Smithe Street. If you’re taking the Canada Line, exit at Vancouver City Centre station and walk south on Granville street towards Smithe. The Orpheum can also be accessed by many trolley bus lines. Check the Translink website for schedules and routes.
